Kevin Bacon may not love being asked to dance to “Footloose” at weddings, but give him a stage and a guitar, and he’s more than happy to bring the iconic song to life.

Over the weekend, Bacon and his brother Michael, performing as The Bacon Brothers, delivered a lively rendition of “Footloose” at Stagecoach Festival’s Palomino stage. The duo, who have been making music together for over three decades, added their own flair to Kenny Loggins’ classic track, showcasing their chemistry with energetic guitar work, tambourine beats, and powerful vocals — a full celebration of the spirit of letting loose and hitting the dance floor.

A clip shared by Stagecoach’s official TikTok account captured part of their performance, calling it proof that “the legend of The Bacon Brothers is alive.” Meanwhile, Kevin shared a backstage video on his own TikTok, joking about settling into their “little Stagecoach home away from home” and expressing his excitement about opening for the Backstreet Boys — a career first.

The festival’s final day saw the Backstreet Boys close out the event with a 90-minute set packed with hits, culminating in a special duet with country superstar Luke Combs on the beloved 1999 anthem “I Want It That Way.”

Though Bacon has gone on to a long, successful acting career, Footloose — where he played the rebellious Ren McCormack, a city teen who shakes up a conservative small town — remains one of his most defining roles. While he’s embraced the film’s legacy at special moments, like the end of the 2023 actors’ strike, Bacon has been candid about his complicated feelings toward the fame it brought him. In a 2023 interview, he recalled initially rejecting the image it gave him, saying, “The last thing I wanted to be was a pop star.”

Today, Bacon still jokes about the unexpected pressures that come with his Footloose fame, admitting that his “worst nightmare” is getting cornered at a wedding when a DJ cues up the title track, with guests clapping along as if he’s “a trained monkey.”

Stagecoach 2025 also featured a stacked lineup, with headliners like Zach Bryan, Creed, Jelly Roll, and Lana Del Rey, who has been steadily embracing her country side. During her Friday night set, Del Rey surprised fans with a new track, “57.5,” referencing her 57.5 million Spotify listeners. In a cheeky lyric, she name-checked Morgan Wallen: “I kissed Morgan Wallen / I guess kissing me kind of went to his head.” She also offered some advice for success, warning: “Don’t go ATVing with him when you’re out West.”
