Watch Hardy Get Bitten by a Snake After Grabbing It: ‘Let Go!’
Country star Hardy is proving that a little snakebite isn’t enough to slow him down.
The “One Beer” singer — born Michael Wilson Hardy — posted a wild new video to Instagram on Wednesday, adding another chapter to his growing collection of outdoor adventures.
The clip opens with Hardy grinning at the camera and announcing, “Nature, with Hardy,” before he springs toward a snake and snatches it off the ground. The snake immediately lashes out, wrapping itself around his forearm and clamping onto his knuckles.
“Some kind of water snake,” Hardy calmly observes as the reptile refuses to let go. Struggling to shake it free, he eventually shouts, “Let go!” all while the action unfolds to the sound of his own song, “Favorite Country Song.”
As Hardy wrestles with the snake, his voice is mostly drowned out by the lyrics: “Yeah you probably don’t know about a north wind blowing / through a patch of pines, / whip-poor-wills singing ’bout summertime.” Finally, he manages to pry the snake’s jaws off his hand, but instead of panicking, Hardy casually displays the squirming snake for the camera before the video cuts to him proudly showing off an arrowhead he found.
Country singer Koe Wetzel chimed in on the post, joking in the comments, “Rednecker than me.”

Hardy also tagged Robert Irwin — Australian conservationist and son of the legendary Steve Irwin — hinting that his DIY wildlife escapades could rival those featured on Crikey! It’s the Irwins.
“Favorite Country Song” and “Buck on the Wall,” Hardy’s latest singles, dropped on April 11, marking his first new music since 2024’s Quit!!, his third studio album. Both tracks will appear on his upcoming EP Country!, set for release on May 2. Hardy is also preparing for a milestone moment: his official Grand Ole Opry debut on April 29.
Beyond his musical and outdoor pursuits, Hardy has been open about his personal struggles. In a 2023 Instagram post, he shared his experience battling severe anxiety following a frightening 2022 tour bus accident on a Nashville freeway. The crash left him grappling with panic attacks, forcing him to cancel several shows. However, Hardy has since made a strong recovery — and, in March, he and his wife, Caleigh Ryan, celebrated the arrival of their first child.
From battling snakes to battling inner demons, Hardy continues to face it all head-on — with a little country grit and a whole lot of heart.
