MLB lands on Time’s 100 Most Influential Companies list
TIME has recognized Major League Baseball (MLB) as one of the 100 Most Influential Companies of 2023. MLB has been included in the esteemed “Titans” category of the annual TIME100 list.
The TIME100 Most Influential Companies list showcases companies that are making a remarkable impact worldwide. It is divided into five categories: Leaders, Disrupters, Innovators, Titans, and Pioneers.
MLB stands out as the only major professional sports league to make this year’s list. Joining MLB in the “Titans” category are renowned companies like Disney, Apple, and Microsoft.
With this recognition, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred participated in an interview with TIME, discussing baseball’s new rule changes for 2023 and more. In the interview, Manfred emphasized the special place of baseball in American culture, stating, “When I think about the game, I always begin with the notion of America’s pastime.”
TIME curates the 100 Most Influential Companies list by considering nominations from its global contributors, correspondents, and external experts. The companies are evaluated based on criteria such as impact, innovation, ambition, and success.
The complete list of companies, including MLB, will be featured in the July 3 issue of TIME, available on newsstands starting this Friday.

But I think the important thing for us is that we always keep our eye on maintaining the place of baseball in American culture.”
