Whoopi Goldberg Startles Sara Haines and Takes Down a Gnat with a Strong Clap on Live Segment of The View

During a recent episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg made headlines when she spotted and swiftly eliminated a gnat while co-host Sara Haines was discussing election interference and Donald Trump’s denial of the 2020 election results.

As the pesky insect buzzed around the studio, Goldberg became laser-focused on the creature, declaring, “There he is,” before launching her surprise attack. A wide shot captured her keen eye on the gnat while Haines continued her commentary. In a clip that has since gone viral, Goldberg clapped her hands to squash the gnat, causing a stir among the audience.

After the operation, Haines momentarily paused, turning to Goldberg as she inspected her hands. “There’s a little… have you seen it?” Goldberg asked, prompting laughter from the crowd.

Sunny Hostin, another co-host, chimed in, confirming her own efforts to assist in the gnat-hunting mission: “I tried to get him. I couldn’t get him.”

Despite the interruption, Haines smoothly resumed her discussion, acting as if nothing had happened.

Interestingly, this gnat wasn’t the first flying intruder to disrupt The View in 2024. Earlier in June, while still in their previous studio, Ana Navarro had her own encounter with a winged visitor. As she discussed the Supreme Court, a fly landed on her mug, leading her to exclaim, “Oh my God, there’s a giant fly. Mike Pence’s fly is smack on my cup,” referencing the infamous moment from the 2020 debates. She humorously remarked that it “looked like a Chihuahua” before the show continued.
