Ruth Connell and Rob Benedict, known to Supernatural fans as the “Queen of Hell” and “God,” have taken their real-life relationship to the next level. The Supernatural alums are officially engaged, as confirmed by Entertainment Weekly. Benedict shared the news publicly at the Salute to The Boys convention in New Jersey, where he referred to Connell as his “fiancée” during a panel.

In a recent PEOPLE interview, Benedict shared details about the engagement, revealing that the couple has quietly planned to wed in early 2024. “We got engaged earlier in the year, right before we welcomed our daughter Margaret into the world,” he shared, mentioning that New York-based designer Sophie Ratner created the engagement ring.

The couple’s announcement marks a year of big changes, following the January birth of their daughter, Margaret Vivian. Connell introduced her on Instagram a month later, posting tender photos of Margaret’s tiny hands and feet with the caption, “4 weeks old today … The most ecstatic moment of my life was hearing Margaret Vivian Benedict’s healthy cry upon delivery … 01.12.24. In love. Much longed for.” Connell expressed gratitude to Benedict and her family and thanked fans for their overwhelming support.

Reflecting on his family, Benedict also mentioned that his two children from his previous marriage to Mollie have been incredibly supportive of his and Connell’s journey together. “We are very happy and looking forward to the adventure,” he added.

Connell and Benedict both appeared in Supernatural, the long-running CW show where Connell played Rowena MacLeod, a powerful witch and the mother of Crowley, portrayed by Mark Sheppard. Her character evolved into the Queen of Hell across six seasons. Benedict, meanwhile, portrayed Chuck Shurley, who was later revealed to be God, playing an evolving role throughout the show’s 15-season run. Their characters finally intersected in season 11, offering a treat for fans of both actors.
