The NFL’s supplemental draft took place on Tuesday, but it concluded without any players being selected by teams.

The draft had two eligible players this year: Malachi Wideman, a wide receiver from Jackson State, and Milton Wright, a wide receiver from Purdue.

It’s worth noting that this was the first time in three years that the NFL conducted a supplemental draft. The last player selected in this draft format was safety Jalen Thompson, chosen by the Arizona Cardinals in the fifth round back in 2019.

Teams participating in the supplemental draft would have been required to give up a corresponding pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which will take place in April.

Malachi Wideman, who transferred from Tennessee, had an impressive 2021 season at Jackson State with 12 touchdowns on 34 receptions. However, his production dropped significantly last season, as he only caught three passes.

Milton Wright, on the other hand, was declared academically ineligible for the 2022 season, resulting in his absence from the field. In 2021, he had 57 receptions and seven touchdowns.

Since neither player was selected in the supplemental draft, they are now free to sign with any team as undrafted free agents.

Milton Wright missed the entire 2022 season due to academic ineligibility. In 2021, he recorded 57 catches and seven touchdowns for his team.

Both Wideman and Wright are now free to sign with any NFL team as undrafted free agents, offering them another opportunity to pursue their professional football careers.
