Nissan teases ‘Hyper Tourer’ EV concept ahead of physical debut at Japan Mobility Show
As the Japan Mobility Show approaches, Nissan has given a sneak peek of its third EV concept for the month – the Hyper Tourer. This design, focused on optimized aerodynamics, will be showcased alongside Nissan’s other two recently revealed concept designs in the upcoming event.
Nissan has had a bustling month, keeping fans and enthusiasts intrigued with their series of unique EV concepts, primarily in digital form.
The ongoing “Hyper” concept campaign from Nissan involves revealing a new digital vehicle design in the run-up to the Japan Mobility Show. Nissan’s use of the term “Hyper” reflects the amplified excitement they hope to instill, potentially hinting at forthcoming product models to augment their current lineup, which includes the Ariya and the now-aging LEAF model. Promisingly, more models are in the pipeline.
Earlier in October, Nissan showcased the Hyper Urban EV concept, a forward-looking crossover with features like foldable front seats and a customizable display. This was followed by the unveiling of the Hyper Adventure SUV, boasting impressive aerodynamics, a robust battery, and snow-gripping enhancements to its wheels and bumpers.
Now, completing their series, Nissan presents the Hyper Touring, a reimagined take on the minivan. While it may not have the avant-garde appeal of its predecessors, it offers a fresh perspective worth exploring.
The Hyper Tourer offers a blend of futuristic design with minivan utility. Nissan’s recent renderings hint at a forthcoming real-world version to be launched in Japan. Crafted for those who seek luxury and enjoy social or business outings, the Hyper Tourer imbibes the essence of omotenashi, representing “Japanese hospitality.” This is evident in features ensuring passenger comfort, including autonomous driving capabilities, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) tech, and a powerful battery pack.
The interior draws inspiration from traditional Japanese designs, like kumiko and koushi patterns, set against innovative elements such as LED panels that recreate natural scenes.
Starting October 25, the Hyper Tourer will be exhibited in Japan alongside the earlier two “Hyper” concepts. Additionally, a music video featuring these three Nissan EV concepts will premiere on the same day.
