Lindsay Lohan is gearing up to step into the shoes of Hollywood legend Ann-Margret for a biopic about the actress, singer, and dancer’s extraordinary life.
The 38-year-old Mean Girls and Our Little Secret star shared updates on the project during her appearance on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live. While reuniting with former co-star Lacey Chabert, Lohan answered a fan’s question about the Ann-Margret film.
“Are you working on that? I know she gave her blessing for you to star in it,” host Andy Cohen asked.
“We’re working on the story,” Lohan confirmed. “It’s exciting, yeah!”
A “Pretty Intense” Role
Cohen speculated that portraying Ann-Margret—a celebrated dancer—would require Lohan to fully embrace the physical demands of the role.
“You would be dancing your ass off if this happens,” he remarked.
“I know,” Lohan replied. “It’s gonna be pretty intense. It has to be the way she wants it to be, so I really want it to be special in that way.”
Lohan previously expressed her enthusiasm for the project in March, revealing her admiration for the 83-year-old star’s legacy.
“I really want to play Ann-Margret, and we’re trying to find a writer for that story,” she told Bustle. Reports have suggested that Ann-Margret has given her support to Lohan’s involvement, although this has not been officially confirmed. “She’s a triple threat and an amazing woman. I just really want to do her justice and help tell a great story for her.”
