Bobby Sherman – Former Teen Idol – Diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer

Bobby Sherman, the singer and actor who captured the hearts of fans in the 1960s as a teen idol, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

His wife of over ten years, Brigitte Sherman, shared the news on Facebook Wednesday, asking for privacy during this difficult time and expressing gratitude to the fans who continue to support her husband. “We really appreciate it,” she wrote, thanking those who still hold Bobby in their hearts.

Sherman, 81, began his career in the entertainment industry with TV roles, making appearances on shows like Honey West and The Monkees. His big break came in 1968 when he starred as Jeremy Bolt in the western series Here Come the Brides. Alongside his acting career, Sherman pursued music, becoming a teen sensation with hit songs such as “Little Woman,” “Easy Come, Easy Go,” “La La La,” and “Julie, Do Ya Love Me.” Over the years, he released 10 albums and more than 100 songs.

He also made notable TV appearances, including a guest role on The Partridge Family as Bobby Conway, and starred in the show’s spin-off, Getting Together. In 1974, he appeared on a memorable episode of the medical drama Emergency!, which later inspired him to pursue a second career as a paramedic and medical trainer in the 1990s.

Shifting away from the entertainment industry, Sherman joined the Los Angeles Police Department as a technical reserve officer and earned the title of LAPD’s Reserve Officer of the Year in 1999. He later served as a deputy sheriff with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department before retiring in 2010.

Sherman’s last onscreen appearance was in a 1997 episode of Frasier, where he made a cameo as himself. His career also included appearances on Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote, Blacke’s Magic, and Sanchez of Bel Air, as well as roles in films like Get Crazy, He Is My Brother, and Old Faithful.
