Beyoncé brought Pamela Anderson’s iconic looks to life in a playful new video for her track “Bodyguard”
Beyoncé brought Pamela Anderson’s iconic looks to life in a playful new video for her track “Bodyguard,” urging fans to vote while channeling Anderson’s famous roles.
The video, which dropped just before Election Day, features Beyoncé embodying Anderson’s classic looks from Baywatch and Barb Wire, blending Halloween fun with a call to action. The video, titled “Beywatch,” showcases her dressed in Anderson-inspired costumes while humorously referencing her fans’ anticipation for her visuals—subtly poking fun with a “No Visual Awards” chyron, a twist on Anderson’s 1999 MTV VMAs appearance.
As part of her Halloween lineup, Beyoncé also paid tribute to singer Betty Davis and later channeled Prince and Apollonia in a Purple Rain homage, showcasing her creative versatility.
The Bodyguard video comes just a week after Beyoncé’s headline-making appearance at a Houston rally supporting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Standing beside her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, Beyoncé delivered a heartfelt speech: “I’m here as a mother, not as a celebrity or politician, urging everyone to vote for a world where freedom and unity prevail.”
Her appearance drew the attention of then-Republican nominee Donald Trump, who commented, “Joe Biden is asleep, and Kamala’s at a dance party with Beyoncé—this can’t be our president,” in response at a rally.
Harris’s campaign has also adopted Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” from Lemonade as their official anthem. The Trump campaign attempted to use the same track earlier, but quickly received a cease-and-desist from Beyoncé’s label, who defended her music rights.
With her costume tributes and her involvement in politics, Beyoncé continues to use her platform to entertain and inspire, reminding fans of their power to vote.
