Travis Scott Released Without Charges After Paris Arrest During 2024 Olympics
Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris on Friday following an alleged altercation with his bodyguard at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, but he has since been released without any charges.
According to a statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office obtained by the Associated Press on Saturday, “the police custody order for Travis Scott has been lifted and all proceedings (against him) were terminated because the incident was minor.”
A representative for the rap star confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Scott has been “released with no charges.” A source close to the artist clarified that “no violence occurred” between Scott and his security guard, explaining that the rapper was held for 24 hours by Paris police due to a “verbal argument.” The source also noted, “There are no plans for him to be charged in the future, and there are no injuries to any other party, including his security. Travis has been swarmed by fans and paparazzi all week while in Paris. He blamed his bodyguard for not adequately protecting him.”
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, was taken into custody early Friday morning at the Four Seasons Hotel George V for “violence against a security guard,” according to a statement from the Paris Prosecutor’s Office. Hotel security staff reportedly had to intervene after the 33-year-old artist got into a dispute with his bodyguard.
Scott is among the many celebrities who have flocked to Paris to watch the 2024 Summer Olympics. He was recently seen courtside with Quavo at the men’s semi-final basketball match between the U.S. and Serbia on Thursday.

However, outside of Olympic events, Scott seems to have encountered some challenges in the City of Light. Social media footage shows him making a pushing motion as he was surrounded by paparazzi and excited fans before quickly getting into a waiting car. In another clip, he is seen engaging in a brief conversation with a police officer, who then temporarily accompanies Scott to his destination.
This isn’t the first time Scott has had a run-in with the law. In June, he was arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing after authorities found him “yelling at the vessel occupants” at the Miami Beach Marina. A source told Entertainment Weekly at the time that the incident was minor and described the legal action as “akin to receiving a ticket with no injuries.” Scott paid a $650 total bond for both charges.
