Michael Madsen Arrested on Domestic Battery Charge

Kill Bill star Michael Madsen was arrested on August 17, following an alleged domestic disturbance involving his wife, DeAnna Madsen.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call at approximately 12:15 AM on August 17, 2024, in the 31600 block of Broad Beach Road in Malibu. The call reported a family disturbance where a woman claimed her husband had pushed her and locked her out of their home.

“Based on the initial investigation, deputies determined that Michael Madsen was involved in a domestic incident with his wife,” the department stated in a press release shared with Entertainment Weekly. “Mr. Madsen was arrested for misdemeanor spousal battery (violation of 243(e)(1) P.C.) and was subsequently transported and booked at the Malibu/Lost Hill Sheriff’s Station.” The statement also noted that the investigation is ongoing and will be referred to the Van Nuys Superior Court House for further action.

Madsen’s bail has since been posted, and representatives for the actor confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that “Michael is at home.”

Madsen, a Chicago native, is best known for his collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino. He gained widespread recognition for his role as the menacing Mr. Blonde in Tarantino’s 1992 debut film Reservoir Dogs. He later portrayed the assassin Budd in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, where his character meets a violent end at the hands of Uma Thurman’s The Bride. Madsen also appeared in Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

Over his extensive career, Madsen has amassed more than 300 acting credits since his first role in 1982. In addition to his work with Tarantino, he has appeared in films such as Thelma & Louise, Die Another Day, Species, and Boarding Gate.

Madsen married DeAnna Morgan in 1996, and the couple has three sons: Luke, Calvin, and Hudson, who tragically died by suicide in 2022.
