Matthew Fox Joins Michelle Pfeiffer in The Madison, a Yellowstone Spinoff
Jack Shephard is heading to Montana.
Matthew Fox, best known for his role as Jack Shephard on Lost, is joining the cast of the Yellowstone spinoff The Madison. Fox will play Paul, a rugged and self-sufficient bachelor with a passion for the great outdoors. He joins a stellar ensemble including Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, and Amiah Miller.
The Madison, previously titled 2024, is set in contemporary times and will follow a New York City family relocating to the Madison River Valley in central Montana. The series aims to be a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection,” according to the logline.
Pfeiffer, who also serves as an executive producer, stars as Stacy Clyburn, the family matriarch. Adams portrays Russell McIntosh, an investment banker who has adhered to the predetermined path of his life. Chapman plays his wife Paige, a somewhat self-centered woman enjoying a luxurious lifestyle funded by her family and husband.
Garrett will take on the role of Abigail Reese, a tough, sardonic New Yorker recently divorced and raising two children, while Miller plays her eldest daughter, Bridgette.
The show is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan alongside Pfeiffer, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox. The Madison is the third spinoff in Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe, following 1883 and 1923.
Matthew Fox, known for his Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated role in Lost and his role as Charlie Salinger in Party of Five, recently starred in the comedy series CAUGHT* and the miniseries Last Light. He will also appear in the upcoming Max drama series The Assassin, based on Tom Wood’s book series.
In the expanding Yellowstone universe, there were rumors of Matthew McConaughey joining a spinoff. Other spinoffs in development include 6666 and 1944. The flagship series Yellowstone will return for the second half of its fifth and final season on November 10, though lead star Kevin Costner will not be appearing in the remaining episodes. Costner, who confirmed his departure in June, explained the balancing act between Yellowstone and his film commitments, stating, “Yellowstone was my first priority, but at a certain point when you make commitments you just have to live with them.”
Despite his exit, Costner left the door open for a potential return, saying, “The idea [of returning] is wide open for me. It just happens to be, can I fall in love with the writing? Can I fall in love with the part to go forward?”
