First Teaser for Live-Action “Snow White” Unveils Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen
“She’s delicious, she’s evil, she’s magical, and I got to sing all these different songs — it was incredible,” said Gal Gadot at D23.
Gal Gadot has traded in her superhero cape for the dark allure of the Evil Queen.
During Disney’s D23 fan event in Anaheim, California, the first teaser for the live-action remake of Snow White was revealed, giving fans their first look at Gadot as the iconic villain. In the teaser, Gadot’s character echoes the classic line, “Magic mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest one of all?”
Gadot’s transformation into the Evil Queen is strikingly faithful to the original 1937 animated classic, Disney’s very first feature-length film. Her character sports the signature tall, pointed crown, a headpiece that hides her hair, and a flowing purple gown with long, dramatic sleeves.
On stage at D23, Gadot shared her excitement about taking on such a different role. “It was a lot of fun to get to do something completely different than anything I’ve ever done before,” she said during a panel. “She’s delicious, she’s evil, she’s magical, and I got to sing all these different songs — it was incredible.”
The teaser also provides glimpses of the beloved dwarfs, showing their silhouettes as they march to or from the mines, followed by a clearer view of Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Dopey dancing with Snow White in their cottage.
But the spotlight also shines on Rachel Zegler, known for West Side Story and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, who plays the titular princess. In the teaser, Zegler’s Snow White sings “Whistle While You Work,” gazes into a well, ventures through a dark forest, is attacked by a moving tree, and encounters a friendly deer (let’s hope it’s not a Bambi crossover, but with Disney, who knows?).

Zegler expressed her gratitude for the role, calling it “the honor of a lifetime.” She added, “Any young person, any little girl, you get to put on a Disney princess dress and be her for a day, let alone six months in London on these incredible sets in a Sandy Powell-designed dress — it’s just been the most amazing experience, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.”
The teaser wraps up with a haunting image of a gnarled hand, likely Gadot’s post-transformation, offering Snow White the infamous red apple. Maybe this time, Snow White will think twice before taking a bite!
Snow White is set to hit theaters on March 21, 2025.
