-A size 10 crochet hook (or whatever size hook you need to achieve a gauge of 4 stitches per inch)
-A tapestry needle
-Scissors
-A sense of humor!
First, you’ll need to find a suitable image of an ugly sweater that you can use as a reference. Once you have your image, upload it into the MakerBot software and adjust the settings so that it will print at the right size for your sweaters. We suggest making your sweaters about 12 inches wide by 14 inches tall, but feel free to adjust the size as needed.
Once your file is ready, send it to your 3d printer and let it do its work. When the sweaters are done printing, carefully remove them from the build plate and set them aside.
Now it’s time to start stitching! Using your sweater yarn and crochet hook, single crochet around the entire edge of each sweater,
How to make a Spider-man sweater from a store bought sweater?
There are a lot of ugly sweater patterns out there, but this one is special because it’s based on the classic Spider-man costume. If you’re not into knitting, you can easily make this sweater by buying a store bought sweater and adding some simple details.
What You’ll Need:
1 store bought sweater
red felt
blue felt
black Sharpie
scissors
glue gun and glue sticks
needle and thread (optional)
Step 1: Cut two circles out of the red felt. These will be Spider-man’s eyes. Step 2: Cut a small triangle out of the blue felt. This will be Spider-man’s nose. Step 3: Use the black Sharpie to draw on Spider-man’s mouth. Step 4: Glue the red felt circles to the front of the sweater, just below the neckline. Step 5: Glue the blue felt triangle beneath the red felt circles. Allow all of the glue to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
If you want to take things one step further, you can sew on some webbing detail around the eyes using needle and thread (or a sewing machine). This is entirely optional, but it does add a nice touch.
