Rochdale Association Football Club
Rochdale Association Football Club, commonly known as Rochdale, is an English professional football club based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. The club competes in League One, the third tier of the English football league system.
Founded in 1907, Rochdale spent 19 seasons in the Lancashire Combination and the Midland League before being elected to The Football League for the first time in 1921–22. They competed in the Third Division North until 1957–58 when they were placed in the newly formed Fourth Division. In 1962 they reached the semi-finals of the League Cup where they narrowly missed out on a trip to Wembley Stadium after losing to eventual winners Leicester City.
After winning promotion to the Third Division under manager Jimmy McGuigan in 1969–70, Rochdale reached their highest ever league position of ninth place in 1974–75.
They then suffered two successive relegations and were relegated out of the Fourth Division at the end of the 1977–78 season. They returned to fourth level football by winning promotion at the end of the 1978–79 season and remained there until 1984 when they were once again relegated back down to fifth level football.

The EFL Championship is the second-highest division of English football and the Rochdale AFC are one of the teams that compete in it. The team is based in Greater Manchester, England and their home stadium is Spotland Stadium. The team’s colors are blue and white.
Rochdale AFC was founded in 1907 and they have been competing in the EFL Championship since 2013. The team has had some success in recent years, finishing in 8th place in the 2017-18 season. They also reached the semi-finals of the League One play-offs in the same season.
