In the magical world of Harry Potter, some people are born with innate talent and others have to work hard for what they want. Perhaps one of the most talented people in this world is the Slytherin wizard Tom Riddle.
Tom Riddle was a cunning mastermind who knew how to get what he wanted – even if it meant using underhanded tactics. So it only makes sense that we would recreate his famous ugly sweater from the Harry Potter series. Don’t tell anyone, but we think it looks pretty good! There’s no need to be ashamed of being a Slytherin on Christmas! This Harry Po
tter Ugly Sweater will let everyone know you’re up for a festive challenge, and who knows, maybe it will keep you warm on those cold winter nights. All you need is some wool yarn, an H cord or similar size crochet hook, and some Wool-Ease Thick & Quick knitting needles.
1. Start by casting on 100 stitches.
2. Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 6 rows. Switch to Hdc and work in the following pattern (2 hdc = 1 stitch):
2 hdc in next st, *hdc in next 2 sts; rep from * across. Do not turn your work after working the last hdc row.
3. Next row: Ch 1 (does not count as st), work 2 hdc in first st, *hdc in next 3 sts; rep from * across to last st, 2 hdc in last st. Turn your work so that the wrong side is facing and begin working the following pattern: Dc around entire piece except for the 2 sts at beginning (these will be worked together with ch 1): Work dc in first st, ch 1, skip next st, dc in each of the next 3 sts, ch 1, skip next st, dc in last 4 sts.
