In 2022, there will be 3 rules for wearing sneakers
You can never go wrong with a pair of classic white kicks—or can you? Sneaker trends, they are a changing, but that doesn’t mean you have to overhaul your whole footwear collection just yet. Here are six “rules” (in the words of Captain Barbossa, they’re more like guidelines) to help you figure out the best way to wear your beloved sneakers in 2022, whether you prefer basic white Keds, old-school Air Jordans or super-colorful flatforms.
1. Minimalist sneakers go well with sundresses – Cute Dogs Cats Pet Stitch Premium Low Top Shoes
The days when we loved wearing flouncy dresses with chunky athletic sneakers are long gone, and this year we are more inclined to pare down our ‘fits with more minimalist kicks to make them more flattering.
We suggest that you stick with simple sneakers (they don’t have to be all white, but we recommend that you keep the additional colors and details to a minimum) so our favorite dresses can steal the show.
2. Wear neutral kicks with bright colorblocked kicks – Cute Dogs Cats Pet Stitch Premium Low Top Shoes
It is important to give your brightest, boldest sneakers room to shine by pairing them with neutral hues instead of another vibrant shade.
If you choose a pair of cropped pants rather than pants of longer lengths that cover part of your shoe, it will be even better.
I recommend adding a pop of color, such as a mini handbag or a headband, as a way to add more color to your outfit.
3. Sleek sneaker silhouettes work best with 1990s jeans
Instead of wearing your throwback jeans with chunky sneakers or athletic styles, pair them with something sleek, like classic Converse or Keds. Your whole look will seem heavy or bulky when you wear voluminous jeans with thick-soled sneakers, whereas slimmer kicks balance everything out.
