The league, which features teams from all over Sweden, published a photo on their Instagram account of their new ugly sweater. The jerseys are made out of a synthetic material that is meant to imitate the look and feel of real leather. The jerseys are not only stylish but also eco-friendly. They are made from 100% recycled materials and they use up less water than traditional leather production methods. What is the HV71 Sweden Hockey League?
The HV71 Sweden Hockey League (SHL) is the top professional ice hockey league in Sweden. The league was founded in 1975, and currently has teams in six of the country’s seven provinces. In 2017-18, HV71 won their first Swedish Championship since 1998.
The Ugly Sweater Contest
The HV Sweden Hockey League’s Ugly Sweater Contest is back for another year! This year, the contest is open to all teams in the SHL. The top three teams at the end of the season will compete in a playoff round to determine the overall champion. The first place team will receive a cash prize of SEK 10,000, the second place team will receive SEK 5,000 and the third place team will receive SEK 3,000.
To participate in the Ugly Sweater Contest, your team must wear an ugly sweater to all home games during the regular season. If your team is not able to wear an ugly sweater due to bad weather conditions, you are allowed to wear a festive Christmas sweater instead. In order to be eligible for the playoffs, your team must have at least 50% participation in games played during the regular season. Prizes
The HV Sweden Hockey League SHL Ugly Sweater Contest is back for its fourth year and it’s bigger and better than ever!
This year, the contest will be open to all registered HV Sweden Hockey League clubs. Fans can vote for their favorite team’s ugly sweater on the league’s website from December 1-15. The top three teams with the most votes will then compete in a playoff series to determine the ultimate ugly sweater champion.
In addition to bragging rights, the winning team will receive a special prize donated by Swedish company Puma. The grand prize is a trip for two to attend the 2018 IIHF World Championship in Denmark and Norway.
